Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Volunteer Services have been functioning on a limited basis to keep our volunteers and community safe. Currently, the wait to become a volunteer can be lengthy as we follow federal, state and county safety guidelines.

At this time, we have paused the 2021 Jr. Summer program. If you are at least 15 years old and have already applied for the summer program, you will be kept on a list and contacted should the program reopen for this summer. Thank you for your patience while we continue to navigate this pandemic.

Volunteers at Centura-Littleton Adventist Hospital are a dynamic, eclectic group of committed and generous-hearted people who strive to make a significant difference in the lives of the patients, visitors, and caregivers they touch.

If you have questions, need further information regarding volunteering or if you have a compliment to pass along to one of our volunteers, please email our Manager of Volunteer Services.

Our Foundation

We ignite passionate giving by connecting generous hearts to transform lives.

The mission of Littleton Adventist Hospital is to extend the healing ministry of Christ by caring for those who are ill and by nurturing the health of the people in our communities.

Littleton Adventist Hospital Foundation is a nonprofit, faith-based fundraising organization dedicated to providing financial support to Littleton Adventist Hospital. Through our efforts, we are able to give funds dedicated to improving care, purchasing equipment, and developing programs needed to care for the people of our community.

We are committed to extending the healing ministry of Christ, by caring for those in need – particularly the sick, the injured and the elderly – through our financial support of Littleton Adventist Hospital.

Programs

Littleton Adventist Hospital's programs and services reach beyond the hospital's walls into our community, bringing education, comfort, healing and life-saving care to people in need. Donors to Littleton Adventist Hospital Foundation make it possible for Littleton Adventist Hospital to continue its mission of caring for those who are ill and nurturing the health of the people in our communities.

Car Seat Safety Checks

Car Seat Safety Checks

Installing a car seat can be challenging. Littleton Adventist Hospital's Child Passenger Safety technician can help you properly use and install a car seat on your own.

Before the Car Seat Checkup

  • Be prepared to learn, not just watch the CPS technician install the car seat. They are trained to teach you.
  • Try to schedule an appointment one to two months prior to your baby's due date just in case you deliver early.
  • Do your best to install the seat in your vehicle before your car seat checkup appointment. Please read the instructions that came with the child car seat and the instructions in your vehicle owner's manual regarding car seats.
  • Bring the car seat instructions and the vehicle owner's manual with you to your appointment.

Please call the Littleton Adventist Hospital family life department to schedule an appointment at 303-730-5810. Car seat checks are offered on the first Tuesday and third Friday of each month. No walk-ins are accepted; appointments are required.

The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses

The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses

What is The DAISY Award?

The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. It was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died of complications from an auto-immune disease. DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. One of Pat's family's goals in creating a Foundation in his memory was to establish an award program that would recognize extraordinary nursing care, like the kind Pat had received throughout his hospitalization.

Littleton Adventist Hospital is Proud to be a DAISY Award Partner

Each DAISY Award Honoree will be recognized at a public ceremony in her/his unit and will receive: a beautiful certificate, a DAISY Award pin, and a hand-carved stone sculpture entitled A Healer's Touch. Additionally, everyone in the unit will celebrate with Cinnabon® cinnamon rolls — a favorite of Patrick's during his illness.

How to Nominate an Extraordinary Nurse

Anyone — patients, visitors, physicians, co-workers — may nominate a deserving Littleton Adventist Hospital nurse.

Honorees will be recognized monthly. Nominations received by the 15th of the month will be considered for the following month's DAISY Award.

Healing Arts

Healing Arts

With the caring services provided by the Healing Arts program, exceptional whole person care is enhanced at Littleton Adventist Hospital.

Live Therapeutic Music:

Live Therapeutic Music (LTM) is provided to our patients by Certified Music Practitioners (CMPS) who are trained to play one-on-one by the bedside to address our patient's physical, emotional and spiritual well- being.

Research demonstrates that live therapeutic music (LTM) positively impacts the healing process of our patients. Family members who may experience stress and anxiety often report how live therapeutic music helps them as well. Staff Resilience is also enhanced with live therapeutic music.

Research-based Benefits of Live Therapeutic Music include: relieves anxiety and stress, reduces need for opioids, reduces blood pressure, stabilizes heart rate, increases endorphin levels, boosts the immune system, among other benefits.

Visual Arts Gallery:

The Healing Arts Gallery rotates exhibits that feature the creative expressions of local artists, as well as local art organizations and school. Themes conveying hope, peace and beauty through nature and the human spirit are sought for the gallery. The Healing Arts Gallery creates a space that can reduce stress and provide positive distraction, which can be helpful in the healing process.

You'll find the Healing Arts Gallery along the hallway just off the main lobby of the hospital.

Recognition:

Centura Health, on behalf of Healing Arts, is the recipient of the 2020 Business for the Arts Award for a commitment to using live therapeutic music and the visual arts in the healing process for whole person care. Healing Arts is 100% funded by philanthropy.
